Welcome!
I am an indigenous birthworker, aunty and mentor and am excited to support you on your walk into your journey of PARENTHOOD.
I provide the general services of a support person, but bring over 16 years of experience in the REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH field. I am a health professional trained in Chinese Medicine & acupuncture, CranioSacral therapy, reiki, clinical herbology, babywearing and more! All of these services are offered as part of your birth experience, because I know that parents who NURTURE and EDUCATE themselves during their pregnancies are more likely to have a POSITIVE BIRTH EXPERIENCE and begin their PARENTHOOD journeys with CONFIDENCE!
What is a Birthworker?
Pregnancy & Birth Support
A birthworker understands the physiology of birth, and the needs of a birthing person and their partner in labour. Nadia's goal is to walk with you and your partner as you prepare for birth and parenting. Once labour begins, Nadia will stay with you through labour, and make sure you are supported during the entire process so you and your partner can be engaged fully in your journey. She will stay after the birth for up to 2 hours to help with breastfeeding and anything else you and your partner may need.
Nadia has a goal to instill confidence in all her clients. Empowering birthing olks to trust their bodies, feel confident in their choices by gathering information and creating a supportive community is the ultimate goal to ease the transition into parenthood.
Post Partum Support
During the postpartum period, post partum support helps you through the transition of bringing this newborn into your family. They provides information, companionship and support, and helps you to care for your newborn. They can also assist with preparing meals and light household chores to ease your transition and connection with the baby. Your post partum support person can also guide you through infant feeding, emotional & physical recovery, and coping skills for new parents. This service is contracted out to local post partum doulas.
